Smashing a Ceiling and a Lot of Egos
Michele Roberts, executive director of the National Basketball Player's Association and lawyer in Washington D.C., is the first woman to lead a major North American professional sports union. When interviewed by espnW, she said that the job leaves no room for a life. She works tirelessly to get up to speed on all the things needed to head the players association.
It takes a whole lot a moxxie to head an organization filled with men, egos and power.
Her job is to protect the rights of the players and maintain communication between the team's head offices. Not a small task considering there are 29 NBA team with over 447 players.
Michele is also an adjunct faculty member at Harvard Law School and a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
